Buying Postage - Be Aware of Counterfeit Stamps

When you send an invitation, postcard, letter, or anything of the sort via the mail

you will need to buy a stamp. Understanding that stamps can be a bit pricey these

days, you might jump at the thought of a half-priced pack of stamps online. But,

before you make that mistake, we are here to help!

It is 2024, and with today’s technology and hacking geniuses, counterfeit stamps

are being seen more than ever. In order to ensure your mail gets to its destination

safely, we recommend purchasing stamps from a trusted source.

According to the United States Postal Inspection Service, “The number of

counterfeit stamps being sold from online platforms has escalated. Scammers

peddle fake stamps on social media marketplaces, e-commerce sites via third party

vendors, and other websites. Counterfeit stamps are often sold in bulk quantities at

a significant discount–anywhere from 20 to 50 percent of their face value. That’s a

tell-tale sign they’re bogus.”

Purchasing stamps online from a third-party company could put you at risk. We

recommend that you go to your nearest post office to purchase stamps safely.
